About The Steel
The Chicago Steel are in their 26th season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) and 11th season playing at Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, IL in 2025-2026. The organization’s focus is providing affordable, family-friendly entertainment. Steel players are recruited from across the country and internationally. They are assigned a host family and advisor to arrange housing and education options while with the team. Education and development as a player/individual are the keys to their success. Over 300 Steel players have played at the NCAA Division I level since 2000 and 62 Steel alumni have been drafted by NHL teams since 2000.
Steel players, coaches, and mascot (Rusty) are active members of the community and visit local schools and non-profits to pass along their message of character, education and teaching of how to “Live Strong As Steel.”
