(ACHA) Knoren Named Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach

AUBURN, ME – Central Maine Community College (CMCC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jordy Knoren as the Head Coach of the Women’s Ice Hockey team. Knoren, a dedicated and accomplished figure in CMCC’s athletic department, brings a wealth of experience and success to this new role.

Knoren’s journey with CMCC began in 2016 when he played on the Men’s Ice Hockey team during its inaugural season. His passion for the game and leadership qualities quickly became evident, leading to his transition to the role of assistant coach in 2019. Demonstrating his coaching prowess, Knoren was appointed as the head coach for the men’s team three seasons ago.

Under Coach Knoren’s guidance, the men’s team achieved remarkable success. This past season, he led the squad to an impressive 17-7-2 record, securing the program’s first NorthEast Collegiate Hockey Association (NECHA) championship and earning a coveted spot in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) National Tournament. His strategic approach and commitment to excellence have set a high standard for the program.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Coach Knoren serves as CMCC’s Strength & Conditioning Coordinator and supervises the Mustang Fitness Center. His dedication to the overall athletic development of CMCC’s student-athletes is evident in his multifaceted role within the college.

As he steps into the position of Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach, Knoren will continue to lead both the men’s and women’s programs. His extensive experience, coupled with his proven track record of success, positions him perfectly to elevate the women’s team to new heights.
