(NAHL) Announces 2024-25 Events

NAHL Combines 1 1

JUNE 26, 2024

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced the schedule of league events for the 2024-25 season. Each event aims at the Development, Exposure and Advancement of players.

The NAHL’s 50th season will be highlighted by the following league events:

  • 2024 NAHL Showcase will have each member NAHL team and USNTDP 17U playing in three games
  • 2025 Top Prospects Tournament is returning to USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, MI, the event will feature four divisional teams and two select teams picked in conjunction with NHL Central Scouting
  • Robertson Cup National Championship once again at Fogerty Arena in May of 2025 offers four teams a chance to be crowned the NAHL Champions

The 21st annual NAHL Showcase Tournament, also known as The Greatest Show on Ice, will be held from September 25-28, 2024, at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. All 35 NAHL teams, and USNTDP 17U will play three regular-season games at the Showcase, which is one of hockey’s most prominent and popular events each season. Over 100 TIER I Youth and Minnesota Elite teams will be in attendance as well during the event. For scouting purposes, the event is a yearly gathering for every NCAA program and NHL team as they get their first look at some of the best and brightest hockey talent North America has to offer.

The NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will be held February 17-18, 2025. The event continues to provide NHL and NCAA scouts in attendance with a look at the best uncommitted players the NAHL has to offer, as well as some potential NHL Draft picks. This upcoming season, the NAHL will host the 2025 Top Prospects Tournament at USA Hockey Arena,  the home of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (USNTDP) in Plymouth, MI. The Top Prospects Tournament brings these players right to Coaches and Scouts. It is a can not miss for NCAA Division I programs as they work to finalize their roster for the following season.

The NAHL’s Robertson Cup Championship is pure junior hockey to its core. Divisional Champions who have battled through two grueling best of five rounds meet for a one last battle for the title as Robertson Cup Champions. The time is short, the stakes are even higher and the level of hockey is phenomenal.

“Everyone looks forward to the NAHL Showcase, Top Prospects and the Robertson Cup,” NAHL Commissoner and President Mark Frankenfeld said. “The NAHL event structure is second to none when it comes to providing our players the opportunity to be seen in front of literally 100’s of scouts. It’s great to have the NTDP compete at the Showcase, which as you can imagine, draws a huge crowd. It’s also great to have NHL Central Scouting participate in choosing our Select Teams for the Top Prospects Tournament.”

With 350+ NCAA commitments so far during the 2023-24 season, the league has set a new standard with 300+ NCAA commitments in each of the last eight seasons. That also includes 270 NCAA Division I commitments this past season. In addition, six players with NAHL ties were listed in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings for the 2024 NHL Draft.

The NAHL is the oldest junior hockey league of its kind in the United States and one of only two that operate under the non-pay-to-play model. The NAHL is also one of the best at advancing players to collegiate and/or professional hockey.

The regular season will commence on September 13, 2024, and end on April 12, 2025.
