(NCAA) STUDENT – ATHLETE NEWSLETTER – May 2024

End-of-Year ReminderUpload Your Official TranscriptAt the end of the school year, ask your high school counselor to upload your official transcript to your Eligibility Center account. If you have attended more than one high school or took courses from more than one program, the Eligibility Center needs an official transcript from all high school(s) or program(s) you attended. By doing this, your transcript will show as being received same day, usually within 30 minutes.

Follow these study tips to ensure you’re earning the best grades possible on your final exams!

Space Out Your Studying: Instead of cramming, study material multiple times using different methods. Rewrite notes, test yourself and discuss with friends.

Always Be Prepared: Attend classes regularly, complete assignments thoroughly and review your notes daily. Avoid last-minute cramming before tests.

Minimize Distractions: Find a quiet place to study and create a more peaceful environment. Turn off notifications and focus on your tasks.Ask a Former Student-AthleteAs a former soccer student-athlete at Concordia Portland, Gabbie Ewing never drifted very far from the athletic world and the community that left a lasting impact on her. Earning a master’s degree in sports management from Solent University in the United Kingdom in 2022, Ewing eventually decided to channel her passion for the student-athlete experience into a career in college athletics.

“I think my student-athlete experience has shaped me in every possible way,” Ewing said. “Without it, none of what I’m doing now exists.” Click here to read more of her story.
