The account type that is right for you depends on your current circumstances. This information will help you understand which Eligibility Center account type you need. Keep in mind that starting with the free Profile Page account is best practice—you can always transition your Profile Page account to a Certification account at a later time.
- This chart can help you determine which account is right for you.
You should create a free Profile Page account (option 1 on eligibilitycenter.org) if you are any of the following:
- Unsure in which division you want to compete.
- A domestic student-athlete who plans to compete at an NCAA Division III school.
- In eighth grade or below and want to learn more about NCAA sports.
- In ninth grade or above but not yet being recruited and want to stay updated on NCAA requirements and ready to be recruited.
- Planning to play in an NCAA-certified basketball event (but not yet being recruited).
A Profile Page account is free and can be transitioned to an Eligibility Center Certification account at a later time if needed, and is the best place for most student-athletes to start. (Do NOT start a new account rather than transition your Profile Page. Creating duplicate account can confuse coaches who may be interested in recruiting you.)
You should create an Amateurism-Only Certification account (option 2 on eligibilitycenter.org) if you are either of the following:
- A recent international high school graduate enrolling for the first time at an NCAA Division III school on or after Aug. 1, 2023.
- Transferring from a two- or four-year college or university. (These students should check with the compliance office at the school to which they are transferring to ensure this is the correct Eligibility Center account required by that school.)
This account does not include an academic certification. A $70 fee for all students is required to complete your Amateurism-Only Certification account with the Eligibility Center. (A fee waiver is available for eligible students.)
You should create an Academic and Amateurism Certification account (option 3 on eligibilitycenter.org) if you are either of the following:
- You are a recent high school graduate (domestic or international) enrolling for the first time at an NCAA Division I or Division II school, or
- You are planning to go on an official visit or sign a Division I or II National Letter of Intent.
- A $100 (domestic students)/$160 (international students) fee is required to complete your Academic and Amateurism Certification account with the Eligibility Center. (A fee waiver is available for eligible students.)
Still unsure which account type you need? We recommend starting with our free Profile Page account, then consulting with the compliance office at the NCAA school you may attend.
