The NCAA crowns its women’s national champion at the culmination of the college hockey season, the Frozen Four, each March.

In 2023, the University of Wisconsin claimed its record-breaking seventh NCAA title thanks to a thrilling 1-0 win over Ohio State on Sunday afternoon at AMSOIL Arena.

Kirsten Simms scored the lone goal for the Badgers while Cami Kronish stopped all 31 shots she faced to shutout the top-ranked Buckeyes.

The Frozen Four crowns the winner of the NCAA Tournament, which has been held since 2001. The tournament expanded to its current 11-team format in 2021. The tournament opens at four regional sites held on the campus of each of the top four seeds, with the winners advancing to the Frozen Four.

The 2024 NCAA Women’s Frozen Four will be held March 22-24 at the Whittemore Center Arena on the campus of the University of New Hampshire.
