Hockey Helps the Homeless

OUR VISION

We believe that every Canadian should have a place to call home and the supports that they need to thrive

OUR MISSION

To raise awareness of and funds for homelessness in Canada by leveraging Canada’s affinity for hockey

HHTH is a not-for-profit hockey charity with over 20,000 donors, 3,000 players, and 1,000 volunteers that participate annually, and together, we “play with purpose”.

100% of net proceeds stay local in the city they are raised in, and support our 60+ local homeless support agencies across Canada. Since 1996, HHTH has granted over

$33 million to shutout homelessness.

IT STARTS IN YOUR COMMUNITY

There’s more than one story when it comes to how people end up homeless and that’s why there is more than one way to help. At Hockey Helps the Homeless we invest in solutions that ensure fewer individuals and families end up on the streets. We do so in partnership with organizations that are committed to ending homelessness through many different services.

TESTIMONIALS

“HHTH in Waterloo Region is the most inspirational event I’ve ever been a part of. Not only does it provide funding for agencies who are working with THE most vulnerable people, but it also is a demonstration of what collective good can happen when people who care come together. The number of volunteers and the hundreds of hours of work put into this tournament is unprecedent and something that is to be admired and respected.”

“Working with HHTH is an absolute pleasure. HHTH has a deep understanding of the need and an eagerness to help that is truly heartwarming. As a funder, HHTH makes the process as barrier-free as possible. Thank you for all you do to help the vulnerable women and children in our community. We look forward to continuing to work together in the future.”

“Each year, the Hockey Helps the Homeless tournament brings together passionate athletes and generous supporters, all united by a common goal: to combat homelessness. Through their efforts, significant funds have been raised, directly benefiting Redwood Park Communities’ various programs. These funds have enabled the development of new housing projects, the maintenance of existing ones, and the provision of essential services.”

“My HHTH experience was an interesting one.

I relied immensely on the HHTH team to assist me through the process and the YEG Wild team formed. The process from registration right to the final game was excellent, the HHTH team has this well handled. The draft night was very exciting, so many hockey alumni and community members out to support a cause that has been significantly impacting our city and our country. I had a wonderful time and will definitely be back to participate in the coming year.”
