Playing hockey at any level in our country is an exciting and exhilarating time for a young player. Every level of participation poses its own unique questions and confusions. As players move or advance through the hockey system, choosing the best developmental pathway become more confusing and the decisions families need to make become more complicated. These decisions are often difficult to make and can impact both positively and negatively a player’s hockey journey. While HOCKEY ADVISORY support associations, leagues, and governing bodies, our main focus is supporting minor & junior hockey families who are navigating their child’s complex hockey journey.
The services HOCKEY ADVISORY provides focus on the fundamental principles of LEADERSHIP, EDUCATION, GUIDANCE and SUPPORT for those involved in amateur hockey in Canada. Hockey Advisory does not provide legal representation or act in the capacity of a player agent or advisor.
My vision for Hockey Advisory is to be the most trusted amateur hockey resource in Canada providing leadership, education, guidance and support for families, players and all those involved with our amateur hockey community. Our team’s years of amateur hockey experience and expertise, combined with our innovative approach in providing access to leadership, education, guidance and support, make Hockey Advisory uniquely positioned to help ensure our clients get the information required to maximize their potential and achieve their goals.
Whether you or your family have a question, concern or would simply like more information or learn more about a particular topic related to your child’s hockey journey, please allow Hockey Advisory to be your families trusted hockey resource.
Yours in Hockey,
HOCKEY ADVISORY

Graham J. Brown
BHK MHK
Since his early days as the Executive Director of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) and as the President and CEO of USPORTS, Graham Brown has been providing leadership, education, guidance and support to families, players, teams. associations and leagues from across Canada involved in amateur hockey and other sports such as rugby, soccer, basketball and football.
With two sons who have played hockey since they were the ago of four (4), twelve (12) years on the Board of the York Simcoe Express (YSE), AAA Hockey Club or in his role as President and CEO with Rugby Canada or U SPORTS, (Canada’s equivalent to the NCAA where Graham led both men’s and women’s University Hockey in Canada), supporting sport and in particular the game of hockey has been a significant part of Graham’s life. It was in his role as President and CEO of U SPORTS that Graham helped to strengthen the pathway for major junior hockey players ending their CHL careers and exercising their CHL education package by attending a Canadian University and joining one of thirty-six (36) U SPORTS men’s hockey programs from across Canada. Professionally, Graham was involved in shaping the important NHL “Declaration of Principles” initiative that since 2017 has provided guidance and support to thousands of hockey families across North America.
The past two years working with St. Andrew’s College in Aurora, one of North America’s top Prep Hockey programs, coupled with his youngest son being drafted in the 1st round to the OHL’s Sarnia Sting, made Graham realize how truly complex, confusing and challenging hockey can be for many families and young athletes involved in the game. The idea for Hockey Advisory was formed after his own family’s difficulties trying to decide with their youngest son whether he should leave St. Andrew’s College where he had attended school since grade 5 and move away from home at 15 to play in the OHL, or remain at SAC and pursue one of the many NCAA D1 scholarship opportunities that their 15-year-old son was being presented with. Graham’s hope is that Hockey Advisory will become a conduit for other hockey professionals to use their knowledge, wisdom and experience to help educate, guide and support less knowledgeable families and players from across Canada who want to make their hockey journey as rewarding, enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Graham’s twenty-five (25) plus years of experience in the sports industry and especially across all levels of hockey have provided him with the knowledge, expertise and experience to help guide, assist and educate young hockey players and their families as they pursue their hockey dreams. There is no one blueprint to help families on this journey. While the path will create many great memories, and establish many incredible friendships, understanding and navigating the world of amateur hockey in Canada can often be very complex, challenging, and lonely.
