(Hockey Canada) and International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) announce a historic five year agreement

Exposure is everything.

Planned perfectly within the excitement of the World Juniors in Ottawa, Hockey Canada and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) announce a historic five-year agreement that includes five women’s championships to be played on Canadian soil.

• 2026 U18 Women’s Worlds
• 2027 Women’s World Championship
• 2028 U18 Women’s Worlds
• 2030 Women’s World Championship
• 2030 U18 Women’s Worlds

Canada puts itself on the map (not that anyone forgot about us) as it’ll be the first time in women’s hockey history the same country hosts five championships in as many years. Hats off to all the work Marin Hickox and her team at HC have done (and keep doing).

Exposure is everything; the pioneers and leaders of the women’s game have been reminding us of that every step of the way. So to say that I’m excited for what this five year partnership will bring is a massive understatement.
