Thank you for your interest in playing for the Bismarck Bobcats. We are set to host our coaches camp for the 2024-25 season in June 2024, looking for the next wave of Bobcat players!
For the first time ever, the Bismarck Bobcats will be hosting its first ever Bobcats Coaches Camp. This camp will include on ice practices (1 practice per team) and 4 guaranteed games per team. Practice sessions will allow for 1 on 1 instruction from our coaching staff. There will be 4 total NAHL teams at this camp. We are joined by the Austin Bruins, Chippewa Steele, and the Minnesota Wilderness. This camp will give you the best opportunity to be seen by 4 NAHL teams over the course of a three-day period. We are excited to welcome the next wave of future Bobcat players. Over the years, these camps have produced some major impact players in the NAHL who went on to play NCAA Hockey and beyond. More than two dozen Bobcats from just the last three seasons have committed to play Division I hockey, including Carl Fish (Minnesota), Ryan Taylor (Clarkson), Ian Shane (Cornell), Jonathan Ziskie (Niagara), Tommy Bergsland (Colgate), Austin Schwartz (Air Force) and more. The 2023-24 Season will mark the 14th as Bobcats head coach for Bismarck native Layne Sedevie. Sedevie, 40, joined the Bobcat bench as an assistant coach under Byron Pool in 2009 after a long playing career that spanned the junior, collegiate and professional ranks. After winning the Robertson Cup in his first and only year as assistant, Sedevie took the head coaching role prior to the 2010-11 season. Prior to his days as a Bobcat coach, Layne spent two years as a goaltender in the USHL with both the Sioux Falls Stampede and Topeka Scarecrows before moving on to a four-year career in net at Bemidji State University, compiling a 29-21-4 record as a Beaver. After graduation, he spent a year in the Central Hockey League, split between the Wichita Thunder and the Youngstown Steelhounds. The Bobcats have qualified for the playoffs in 9 of 11 seasons (the 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19.) Under his command, more than 100 players have accepted NCAA Division I hockey commitments. |
