EHLP HEAD COACH — JACK LOWRY
Coach Lowry has over 25 years of coaching experience and returns to the Lumberjacks after a year away. A former college player at Boston College and the University of New England and later the Washington Capitals (NHL) Coach Lowry brings a wealth of coaching experience.
In addition to Premier Head Coach, Coach Lowry will also have the role of being an Assistant Coach of the EHL team. In his player development role Jack will also be running team video and 1-on-1 video sessions with players to further their individual development. Coach Lowry has a very in-depth knowledge on all facets of the game.
One of Jack’s key strengths is player development, he will often create new skills sessions or drills for players to enhance on ice development.

EHLP ASSISTANT COACH — SETH GUSTIN
In 2021-2022 Coach Gustin took his Lumberjacks team to the EHL Frozen Finals in his inaugural year with the Lumberjacks. Coach Gustin played over 100 games of Pro Hockey in the FHL. Seth played college hockey for Niagara University’s ACHA team from 2013-2017, and was selected as team captain from his sophomore through senior season. With the help of his leadership, the Purple Eagles were 3-time NECHL champions with an appearance in the ACHA National Tournament.
After graduation, Seth pursued professional hockey attending the Carolina Thunderbirds camp as a free agent and later securing a pro roster spot with the Thunderbirds. His pro career led to a league championship with the Thunderbirds in the 2018-19.
Throughout his playing career, Seth had been passionately involved in giving back to the hockey community through camps and lessons. Now behind the bench, Seth is focused on the continuous development of his players, to be better in their own communities while accomplishing their career aspirations.

EHL AND EHLP GOALIE COACH
A native of Burlington, VT., Matt Welch returns to the junior hockey level as a former player for the Green Mountain Glades (EJHL) and Full Stride Flyers (Empire League). Welch moved to the Colligate level where he played his freshman season at Fitchburg State in 2006-2007. Transferring his sophomore year, Welch finished his collegiate career at Adrian College in Adrian, MI. Matt graduated from Adrian in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture & Interior Design.
After College, Welch was drafted into the AAHL, extending his playing career for a short time at the minor league level. Matt currently has a career as a Professional Kitchen Designer in Montpelier, VT.
Welch’s has devoted years to helping run hockey camps and clinics, along with private lessons. Welch has been a goalie coach of the Vermont Goaltender Academy, Tim Thomas Hockey Camp, and Rodger Nielson Hockey Camp. Since 2011, Welch has been the goalie coach at Champlain Valley Union High School. In 2014, he helped lead them to a Vermont State Championship in men’s Division 1 Ice Hockey. Welch’s soul focus of the goaltending position strives to help the younger generation achieve their goals.
