As woven into the organizational fabric of the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club, it is our commitment to the community of Sarnia-Lambton to as a team, do what we can to help make our community a better place to live.
Through the community objectives we aim to serve as positive role models to the youth and help local not-for-profit organizations raise money and awareness to continue to provide the necessary services available to those who need them most.
Community Objectives
To reflect the views of our community we represent and serve as a liaison for community groups and charities in our area.
To foster community spirit and promote the overall welfare of the Sarnia community
To always represent ourselves with class on and off the ice to best provide our youth with positive role models
Financial Contributions & Donations
Through a variety of annual charitable events and initiatives the Sarnia Sting are proud to have contributed over $1.5 million dollars to the community of Sarnia-Lambton. The Club prides itself on being a leader in the community and understands it’s role in giving back. The club’s annual marquee charitable events include:
Black & White Game in support of the United Way Sarnia-Lambton.
Teddy Bear Toss in support of the Salvation Army presented by Finch Ford Lincoln.
Christmas at the Hive in support of the Inn of the Good Shepherd presented by Mainstreet Credit Union.
Sarnia Sting Charity Golf Tournament in support of Pathway’s Health Centre for Children.
In addition to these fundraising events. The Hockey Club is proud to donate approximately $65,000 in ticketing donations annually to non-profits for the purpose of fundraising efforts which includes the execution of the Sting/ City of Sarnia Community Suite program.

Sting Assists- The Sarnia Sting Community Fund
Established in 2022 the Sarnia Sting Community Fund- Sting Assists is built on best practices in sport and community philanthropy. Our mission, with the support of the Sarnia Sting & fans is to help those who need it, provide growth opportunities for those who deserve it, and to make Sarnia-Lambton a better place for all.
The fund collects donations through community outreach events such as golf tournaments, 50/50 draws, jersey raffles and various online auctions.
Funds collected through Sting Assists initiatives go to support:
Youth Amateur Sport: Promote and support amateur sports and minor hockey in the Sarnia Lambton Region. Defraying the costs for local minor athletes, helping make athletics more affordable to families in the Sarnia-Lambton community
Scholarship Program: Advance education through the provision of community scholarships and in-school programming.
Local non-profits and charitable organizations: Support local charitable organizations and their efforts to help those who need it most in the Sarnia Lambton Community.
Community Ticketing Initiatives:Provide select community organizations and services with the opportunity to bring their group to the rink to see the game live. These organizations will have the ability to distribute tickets to staff, volunteers, and program participants.
