HEAD COACH AND GENERAL MANAGER
Scott Barney
Scott Barney is entering his 5th season with the Broncos as Head Coach and General Manager. He was named interim Head Coach and General Manager in late December and compiled a 14-6-1 record in his first season the Broncos. He was rewarded with a 3 year contract to lead the Broncos into the future. Barney has also been named the Assistant Coach of Team Canada West at the 2019 World Junior A Challenge.
Previously Barney played 19 years of professional hockey making stops in 10 different countries including 27 games in the NHL. He brings a wealth of knowledge and credibility to our players as he looks to make a strong impact not only with them but the community of Humboldt.
Scott and his family, wife Tara and two children Charlie and Jack, are enjoying the community of Humboldt.
“ My goal is to bring a Championship back to Humboldt with an entertaining product on the ice for the fans. In doing that also develop young men and have them ready to further their careers at the next level be it NCAA, CIS or WHL.”

ASSISTANT COACH
Carter Hansen
Carter Hansen is currently in his 2nd year of coaching as a full-time Assistant Coach for the Humboldt Broncos.
Prior to joining the Broncos, Carter was with the Extreme Hockey Junior B Regina Capitals of the PJHL where he was the Assistant Coach.
Carter will be working closely with the Broncos Defence core, as well as the Penalty Kill. Carter brings his five-year junior hockey experience of over 250 games spanning from the WHL and SJHL leagues where he played all five positions on the ice, as well as winning an SJHL Championship in 2016. His post junior career saw him playing for The University of Regina Cougars, as well as working towards his Accounting Degree.

Luke Strueby
Luke grew up a fan of the Broncos as he was born and raised on a farm by Marysburg, just north of Humboldt. He attended school in Muenster and played the majority of his minor hockey in Muenster and Humboldt.
Luke then made the jump to junior hockey and played three years with the Broncos. When his time with the Broncos concluded, he went on to attend Minot State University where he played ACHA Division 1 hockey with the Minot State Beavers and pursued a career in education. He was named captain the last two years and led his team to the National Championship Tournament in his final year.
Luke then moved home and after a year of teaching, the Broncos hired him as the associate coach and marketing director. The next year, he stepped down, but stayed on as a scout and was eventually named Head Scout. After serving as the Head Scout for four years, he was promoted to Assistant General Manager and Director of Scouting at the start of the 2018/2019 season.
Luke has spent nearly 15 years in the Broncos organization in a wide variety of roles. His experience with the Broncos, and knowledge of the league and Junior A hockey as a whole, continues to play an essential part of the success of the Broncos organization.
Luke currently teaches and resides in Wakaw with his wife Amanda and his two children, Blakely and Rhett.

HEAD SCOUT
Jamie Armitage
Jamie is entering his 7th season with the Broncos. He is the current Head Scout for the organization. Jamie resides in Cochrane, Alberta with his wife Jessica and children, Rylen and Fisher.
Over the past 20 years Jamie has been involved with scouting at all levels of the game and is very influential and a key member of the Broncos Organization.
Jamie’s playing career included stops in the QMJHL, MHL and ACAC.

OFFICE MANAGER
Amy Coggar
Amy Coggar started with the Broncos as the Office Manager in July of 2022.
She and her family, Chris (husband) and 2 sons, Levi and Charley, relocated to Humboldt in June of 2021 from Sussex, New Brunswick.
Amy brings with her 12+ years of experience working in various administration positions, majority in the Mining Industry and Municipal Government.
When not working in the Office or cheering on the Humboldt Broncos, you will find Amy cheering on her own 2 boys at the rink and ball field.

Rory McGouran
Rory McGouran started with the Humboldt Broncos as their Play-by-Play Broadcaster to begin the 2018/19 SJHL Season.
He relocated from his hometown of Winnipeg, MB where he spent five years working for TSN 1290 Sports Radio, working as a producer for the Winnipeg Jets broadcasts, an on-air host of a weekly MMA talk show, as well as a producer and content creator for numerous daytime programs during his tenure.
In addition to TSN 1290, McGouran got his start calling games with the Manitoba Sports Network where he had weekly sports broadcasts for various teams, leagues, and events including two consecutive Telus Cup West Regional Tournaments, Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League, Junior Women’s Hockey League, and Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
In April 2019, the Broncos also hired McGouran as their Marketing Manager.
