DAVID WILKIE – GENERAL MANAGER & CEO

David Wilkie was welcomed back to the Lancers’ organization as Head Coach & General Manager starting in the 2022-23 season.Previously, Wilkie was behind the bench for the Lancers as Head Coach and General Manager for four seasons spanning from 2017-2021. During his time with the Lancers’ organization, Wilkie led the Lancers to three winning seasons, two playoff appearances (was on pace for three during the COVID-19 shutdown season in 2019-20), with three top-three finishes in the western conference, including being ranked 2nd in the west at the time of the COVID-19 shutdown.Combined, the Lancers record was 121-78-16-10, with a winning percentage of 0.596 with Wilkie at the helm.Wilkie has a history with the Lancers as he is an alumni from the Clark Cup Championship team of 1991.

LENNIE CHILDS – HEAD COACH



Lennie Childs
Childs joins the Lancers after two seasons serving as an assistant coach at Union College of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). While at Union, the Garnet Chargers had a 30-37-5 record, obtaining the sixth seed in the conference in the 2023-24 season. Which lead to a 6-0 victory over Brown University in the first round of the ECAC Tournament on home ice. Tied to the team’s success was their special teams as Union had the top penalty kill percentage in the ECAC at an impressive 87.3% under Childs’ leadership.
 
Although he has spent the last two seasons within the NCAA, the Silver Spring, Maryland Native is no stranger to junior hockey. He has previously coached for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL with current Lancers’ Associate Coach, Matt Bruneteau during the 2021-22 season under Head Coach, Matt Curley. Along with three seasons with the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
 
He was brought into the Jets’ organization in November of the 2018-19 season and was an assistant coach until the end of the 2019-20 campaign, before being promoted to Associate Coach for the 2020-21 season. Leading Janesville to an 84-64-12 record over three seasons; including a division-topping 31-13-4 record in 2020-21 while serving as Associate Coach.
 
The Jets qualified for the playoffs each season Childs was on their staff outside of the 2019-20 run when the playoffs were canceled entirely due to COVID-19.
 
Childs played junior hockey in Janesville for two seasons from 2010-2012 before four seasons of playing DIII NCAA at Concordia University of Wisconsin.

MATT BRUNETEAU – ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH



MATT BRUNETEAU
Bruneteau joined the Lancers’ organization in the summer of 2022 as Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach.
 
Bruneteau has both a diverse playing and coaching resume throughout the last 14 years before returning to his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska this season.
 
Bruneteau played two full seasons of junior hockey between 2008 & 2010. Those seasons being spent with the Wenatchee Wild of the North American Hockey League where he served as captain, before being pulled up to the Lincoln Stars of the USHL halfway through his first season. After the partial season with the Stars, he was promoted to captain for the 2009-10 season.
 
Following his two seasons in junior hockey, he spent four seasons with Lake Superior State University, playing in 146 games for the Lakers; 75 of which were played with a letter on his jersey.
 
Following his college career, Bruneteau spent a few seasons in professional hockey, playing for both the Fort Wayne Komets and the Greenville Road Warriors of the East Coast Hockey League before heading to Europe for the 2014-15 & 2015-16 seasons.
 
Bruneteau spent his two seasons overseas with the Strasbourg Etoile Noire in Ligue Mangus to conclude his playing career.
 
His coaching career kicked off with a program he helped start, at Stevenson University (NCAA Division III) in Maryland, leading them to the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Conference Championship.
 
Following those two seasons with Stevenson University, he served as Assistant Coach at the University of Alaska-Anchorage from 2018-2021, before returning to junior hockey in the fall of 2021 to assistant coach the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL.

KYLE KAWAMURA – ASSISTANT COACH

BRUNETEAUKyle Kawamura, a Nashville, Tennessee native is entering his fourth year of coaching after a four year junior hockey playing career. During his junior hockey career, Kawamura played for the Omaha Lancers (USHL), Lincoln Stars (USHL), Shreveport Mudbugs (NAHL) and the Powell River Kings (BCHL). On top of working with the Lancers, Kawamura also works with the Omaha Mastery AAA hockey programs on the coaching staff.

ALEX BARRON – ASSISTANT COACH



Barron
Alex Barron joins the Lancers as an assistant coach for the 2023-2024 season after most recently serving as an assistant coach for the 2023 15U National Champion Los Angeles Junior Kings.

Originally from Los Angeles, California, Barron played in the USHL with the Indiana Ice and Waterloo Black Hawks from 2010-2012, which included a 2012 Clark Cup Final appearance. Following his junior career, Barron joined Quinnipiac University from 2012-2016, which consisted of two   national championship appearances.

MATT BECK – GOALTENDING COACH

Matt Beck enters his fourth year of coaching after spending two seasons as Assistant Coach and Director of Goaltending at the 15U, 16U, and 18U levels for South Kent School/Selects Academy.

Matt hails from Westport, Connecticut, and was a four-year goaltender for the University of Vermont   Catamounts from 2017-2021. While at Vermont, Matt was one of 13 nationwide finalists for the 2020 NCAA Hockey Humanitarian Award; presented annually to the student-athlete who makes significant contributions to his or her team and the community-at-large through leadership in volunteerism. He is also the winner of the 2020 Jeff Stone Memorial Award for excellent community service and campus leadership contribution among all male athletes at the University of Vermont.

He was honored as the 2021 Seamus Award Winner at Vermont, which earned him respect and regard from fellow students for leadership, loyalty, and service to the university. He is a three-time All-Hockey East Academic team member.

Matt graduated with a Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing, a theme in Entrepreneurship, along with a minor in Sports Management.
